The hour
Sixty minutes. Dry gold, drizzle amber, rain red. Nothing past this hour.
Privacy Policy
The next hour only. A dry stretch you can use, or a reason to wait. This page says what stays on your phone, and who to call.
The next hour
GOSixty minutes. Dry gold, drizzle amber, rain red. Nothing past this hour.
Home, work, or a corner you actually leave from. Each one keeps its own hour.
Hold a gap, step out, and say how it ended. Alerts stay on the phone.
This privacy policy covers the Serein mobile application. Serein is provided by Tea Adler as a free app. It reads the next hour of weather for a corner you choose, then tells you whether to go or wait. The app is offered as it is.
Tea Adler is the person to reach about this policy, about the app, and about anything stored in it.
Serein does not ask you to create an account. The places, windows, and settings you make are kept on the device, in the app’s own storage. That includes:
Deleting the app removes that storage with it. You can also remove a stop or a window inside the app before you delete it.
Serein does not ask for location when it launches. It asks for When In Use location only if Now needs “this corner”, or if you tap Use current location while pinning a stop. If you refuse, the hour for that corner is not read. Saved stops still work from the pins you already dropped.
A coordinate is used to request the forecast. It is not sold. Serein does not build a location history on a server run by Tea Adler. A stop you save keeps its latitude and longitude on your device so the same corner can be read again.
The next hour comes from Open-Meteo. When a forecast is needed, Serein sends the latitude and longitude of the corner or stop to api.open-meteo.com over HTTPS, and asks for precipitation, the chance of precipitation, and wind for the coming hour. Open-Meteo is an independent service. Their handling of a request is described in the Open-Meteo terms.
Serein does not add an account, an advertising identifier, or a profile of you to that request. The reply is used to draw the hour on screen. It is not uploaded to Tea Adler.
If you turn on an alert for a gap, Serein schedules a local notification through the system on your phone. The alert fires on the device. It is not delivered by a server belonging to Tea Adler. You can mute alerts for the whole app, quiet them for certain hours, or silence a single stop. Those choices stay on the device. If you deny notifications, the gaps remain in Track and simply stay quiet.
The only address and phone number in this policy are Tea Adler’s, so you can write or call. The app itself does not ask you to type them.
Serein is a weather app for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and it does not ask children to create a profile. If you believe a child has sent personal information in connection with the app, contact Tea Adler and it will be deleted.
Information you create in Serein remains on the device for as long as the app is installed and you keep those stops, windows, and settings. Uninstalling the app deletes it from the device. There is no Tea Adler account to erase, because none is created.
A forecast request to Open-Meteo leaves your device when it is sent. Questions about that request can be directed to Open-Meteo. Questions about Serein can be directed to Tea Adler at the contact below.
Forecast requests use HTTPS. Stops, windows, and settings sit in the app’s local storage on your phone, behind the lock and protections of the device. No method of storage or transmission is perfect. The app is built so that it does not need a copy of your hour on a server of our own.
This policy can be updated. The new text replaces the old text on this page. Continued use of Serein after the page changes means you accept the updated policy. This privacy policy is effective as of 22 September 2026.
By using Serein, you agree that location, when you allow it, may be sent to Open-Meteo to read the next hour, and that the stops and windows you create stay on your device as described above.
